Fabric and Yarn

It was such a rainy and humid weekend around here, just miserable. Good weather for staying in and doing crafty stuff. I fooled around with this collection of stuff:

What is it you ask? It's going to be a doll. See, I got her cut out. She will be very pink. The pattern is from Bowls & Annies.

I haven't started sewing her yet. Maybe tonight I'll get a burst of energy and feel like sewing.

I bought some snowman fabric that I just fell in love with at Walmart. It was just so cute I had to have it and I made some pillowcases for it for the extra pillows on my bed. They make me smile.

I love snowmen. I collect them and have lots. Have to rotate the collection at times.

Last night was knit night with friends. We have a thing going on called Dishcloth Tag. It was my turn to be tagged and I got all this!

Lots of fun! Now I have to knit a dishcloth for the next person on the list and replace the two balls of yarn with yarn of my choosing, throw in any little goodies that I want and pass it on. We've had a lot of fun with this. And I love all the stuff I got in my bag! Didn't the person who knit that round dishcloth do a beautiful job!

On a side note, I still haven't heard from my friend in Houston. I'm hoping he's OK and it's just a matter of the power being out.

T-Shirt

It's here! I got my Ravelry T-Shirt. I'm so excited! I just love it. It fits great and I've already worn it. So glad I bought it!

I love this style of t-shirt, loose fitting, roomy, very comfy.

My daughter's birthday is over. It was a success! The poke cake turned out yummy, everyone liked it, and she got some nice gifts.

Last night was knit night. Lots of fun! It's always a nice evening with conversation, laughter and knitting. I love seeing what everyone is working on. Saw some yarn I had never seen before. It's already knit up into a flat piece, and you unravel it a little at a time and knit socks with it. I think it was called Flat Foot yarn. Very interesting. Might have to try it some day.

I Miss Knit Night

Another Tuesday night went by and I missed knit night with the girls. I really miss it! I haven't gone in so long. My kid is still here on her winter break. I just can't seem to drag my butt out of the house when she's here. It's not like she's five years old and needs a babysitter. She goes back this weekend. Then hopefully life will get back to normal. I miss knit night conversation, I miss all the pretty yarns and projects, and the conversation. Did I mention I miss the conversation?

I've been working on a hat. My first project on circulars done in a circle! So far so good. It has tons of cables on the part I'm working on, the brim. I have one more cable section to do, then it's 2 x 2 ribbing until I get to the decreases. I swear it takes me about half an hour to one round of the cables, I'm so slow at it and paranoid I'll drop a stitch. I'm using Wool Ease. The color is called White Frost. It's got these little irridiscent threads running through it, makes it look kind of sparkly, like frost. And it's going to be for me. With all the Chrismas knitting I did, I'm finally making something for ME!

Otherwise, nothing new and exciting. The Holidays are over (thank god). Back to full time work, except not this week. I'm taking Friday off to help the kid get ready to go back to college on Saturday and it will be our last official day together for a while. Not sure when I'll see her again. Travel could be wicked between here and there for the next couple of months if we get snow.
